Social Program

Social events are an integral aspect of the AFI National Convention, promoting networking opportunities amongst attendees.  Following is a list of social events planned for the AFI2008 Convention:


Sunday 19 October 2008 - President's Reception
An invitation is extended to all Delegates and registered Accompanying Persons to attend the Welcome Address, followed by the President's Reception in the Trade Exhibition area. Renew old friendships and make new acquaintances as we welcome you to the 2008 AFI National Convention.

Time: 5.00 – 7.00pm
Venue: Convention Centre Lobby
Cost: Inclusive in Delegate and Accompanying Person Registration Fees
Additional Tickets: $66.00 per person inc. GST ($60 + GST)


Monday 20 October 2008 – AFI Tribal Dinner
The AFI tribe comes together again to dance to the beat of a unique drum! A championship tennis court we will be dining on, but tonight’s program will be far more spectacular. Will you survive great food, fiery entertainment, and maybe even get up for a tribal dance or two?

Time: 7.00pm - 12.00 midnight
Venue: Tennis Courts – Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort
Cost: Inclusive in Delegate and Accompanying Person Registration Fees
Additional Tickets: $160.00 per person inc. GST ($130 + GST)


Tuesday 21 October 2008 - Happy Hour
After another full day of papers, it is time to relax and enjoy a drink in the Trade Exhibition area.

Time: 5.00pm - 6.00pm
Venue: Trade Exhibition Area
Cost: Inclusive in Delegate and Accompanying Person Registration Fees


Wednesday 22 October 2008 - Convention Banquet
A highlight of the Convention will be tonight's event. You will enjoy a three-course dinner while being entertained by one of Queensland's best bands. It will offer you the chance to reflect on the Convention, plan the next gathering and farewell colleagues.
